Lee-Roy Newton

Lee-Roy Newton founded the Agency in 2010 after a sprint career which saw him become World Champion and Commonwealth Games medallist. His experience of competing, and winning, at the highest level has given him unique insights into both the high-performance and business worlds of sport. It is through this understanding, coupled with a creative flair, which has allowed him to build the Agency to what it is today, and offer clients world-class, uniquely tailored services.

The Agency has a strong commitment to Africa as a 100% black owned agency, and Lee-Roy’s vision is to showcase the best of African talent to the global market. He is one of only a handful of IAAF accredited Athlete Representatives from Africa and is also an authorised Cricket South Africa Player Agent.

Complex, energetic and a believer in big dreams, Lee-Roy uses his background in the fine arts to connect the dots in the sports industry. He is also partial to good cup of coffee.

Dr Kirsten van Heerden

Kirsten van Heerden joined forces with Newton Sport Agency in 2013 after running her own practice for six years. Kirsten’s passion for sport and performance psychology comes from her background as a South African swimmer and seeing the real need for psychological support and training for athletes, coaches and parents. With Newton Sports Agency’s holistic philosophy and creative approach to sport, the fit for Kirsten was a natural one, her specialized skill set combining well with the Agency’s vision for excellence. Kirsten is one of only a handful of psychologists tasked to work with South African Olympic athletes and has become the psychologist to many world champion athletes and teams, often needing to travel around the world in her work to help others reach their potential. Kirsten is also a keen advocate for women in sport, passionately believing in the value of sport for empowering girls and women. She believes that sport provides opportunities for people to access their own potential while creating a platform of skills that can catapult them to success in life beyond sport. Enjoying the world of ideas, Kirsten is an avid reader and her curiosity about life drives her to continual learning in order to better understand herself, people and the wonderfully complex world we live in.
