Matthew Sates showed impressive form at this years World Aquatics World Cup Series – earning him 3rd in the men’s overall points ranking after the three legs completed this weekend.
Competing in Berlin, Athens and Budapest, Sates achieved the triple crown in the 200 IM and 2oo Fly events (winning these events at each of the three legs), posting personal best times along the way.
This year the World Cup was held as a long course event, rather than the usual short course (25m) in preparation for Paris 2024, and so Sates’ performances bode well for the Games.
