At the Curro Simbine Classic Shoot Out this weekend both Beatrice Masilingi and Miranda Coetzee were in record breaking form in the 300m.

Masilingi ran an outstanding 34.60s to break the African Record, and sent the second fastest time in history – just 0.2s off the world record.

Coetzee, second to Masilingi, broke Caster Semenya’s South African record over the distance in a 36.48s.

This is a great season opener for both athlete who will both be looking to qualify for the World Championships later this season.
