At last nights South African Sports Awards, World Champion Luvo Manyonga scooped two of the biggest categories, winning Sportsman of the Year and Sports Star of the Year. “I am quite overwhelmed” said an emotional Manyonga, “This year has been one of the best of my life and I just want everyone to know that dreams can come true when you surround yourself with the right team and never give up”.

Lee-Roy Newton, group MD, was equally thrilled for Manyonga, “Luvo has one of the most powerful stories in sport. This, combined with his absolute joy of competing and determination to be the best ever long jumper, makes him a special athlete”.

Manyonga, who won the World Championships in London in August, was unbeaten in 2017, breaking the South African, African and Diamond League records within the year, and jumping further than anyone has in over 8 years.
