In the 11-year history of Yangzhou Jianzhen International Half Marathon, Mosinet Geremew became the first runner, man or woman, to ever retain or even win a second title. The 27 year old Ethiopian defended his title in a very respectable 1:00.43 after the race came down to a 5 man sprint over the last 300m.
