World Champion Luvo Manyonga broke the  Games Record on his way to winning Commonwealth Gold in Australia this afternoon. Lying in second place with one jump to go, Manyonga showed why he is a major championship athlete by producing an 8.41m jump for the win.

“I am so happy to add this medal to my collection – it’s one to tick off my bucket list! Thank you to my whole team, and thank you to all South Africans for your support” said a happy Manyonga. Lee-Roy Newton, group MD, was extremely proud of Manyonga’s efforts, “Luvo is an incredible athlete who has the ability to stand and deliver when it counts the most. We are so proud of his performance tonight”.
