Gift Leotlela and Taylon Bieldt were both in good form this weekend, winning their respective events at the South African Junior Athletics Championships in Cape Town.

Bieldt battled wet and windy conditions on the first day of the championships to claim the title in the 100m hurdles in a time of 14.03s.

The following day Leotlela, better known as a 100m sprinter, showed his class in the longer distance, running and outstanding 20.28s in the 200m lowering his own PB of 20.47 and edging closer to the SA Junior Record.
