Lara van Niekerk was rewarded for her outstanding year at the glitzy Gauteng Sports Awards this past weekend. She was awarded the Sports Woman of the Year in recognition of her double gold at the Commonwealth Games as well as a bronze and silver at the World Championships and World Short Course Championships respectively.
