Durban: June 04, 2014 – Newton Sports Agency unveiled its exciting new cricket division, signalling a new era for the company that has to date specialised in Olympic and action sports.
Newton Sports Agency announced that its first clients would be Cobra’s player Mthokozisi Shezi; SA U/19 World Cup winner Andile Phehlukwayo and Dolphins batsman Khaya Zondo who have each signed multi-year contracts with the agency. Under the agreement Newton Sports Agency will provide commercial rights and Player management services to players.
Newton Sport Agency Managing Director Lee-Roy Newton said the launch of the cricket division signalled the company’s move into mainstream sport. “With a growing demand and more enquiries for our services within cricket we realised it is the right time to enter into the Cricket arena.” “Our philosophy of complete athlete development is suited to any sport. Our cricketer clients will benefit from not only our commercial expertise but our synergies in marketing and public relations as well as life-skills and sports psychology support that very few if any other agencies offer,” said Newton.
