Namibian sprint star Christine Mboma set a new national record of 11.15s in the 100m at the Athletics South Africa Grand Prix in Bloemfontein on Wednesday. This time is also a World Championships qualifying standard, which books Mboma’s ticket to Oregon, USA in July this year.
Teammate Beatrice Masilingi also showed great from running 11.24, just outside the WC qualifying time, but boding well for her season ahead.
