Durban played host to the 20th CAA Africa Senior Championships last week, with 11 Agency clients participating over the 5 day athletic event. The experience of Wenda Nel (SA), Nijel Amos (BAF) and Jaco Engelbretch (SA) showed in their performances, all winning Gold in their favoured events. Gift Leotlela and Tebogo Mamathu also demonstrated cool heads under pressure when the young sprinters helped South Africa to Gold in the men’s 4 x 100m relay.
Lee-Roy Newton, group MD of Newton Agency, reflected on the success of the championships saying: “We are very proud of all our athletes. There was a great blend of youth and experience showcased during the week and this bodes well for both Rio and beyond”.
