Outstanding performances this weekend from around the world for Agency clients

Agency clients had another excellent weekend of performances from around the world including Australia, Algeria, France and Switzerland.

One of the picks of the weekend was Ethiopia’s Abebech Bekele, who took the Gold Coast Marathon women’s race into new territory on Sunday with her 2hr 25min 34sec win, which set a new course record and is the 4th fastest all-time in Australia.

Then following from her Stadium Record run in Ostrava, 1500m athlete Gudaf Tsegay finished 3rd at the Paris Diamond League in a new Personal Best time.

In La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland, Rikenette Steenkamp had an outstanding performance in the 100m hurdles, stopping the clock at 12.92 seconds, but was unfortunately denied the SA Record (12.95s) due to a +2.1 wind. Other excellent performances came from Isaac Makwala who won the 400m in a SB of 44.80s and placed 2nd only an hour later in the 200m in a time of 20.38s, and Le Roux Hamman who placed second in the 400m hurdles.

Not to be outdone, in Algeria junior athletes Clarence Munyai and Taylon Bieldt become African Junior Champions in the 200m and 100m hurdles respectively. Munyai also broke the Championships Record with his time of 20.22s.
