Luvo Manyonga, Rio Olympic silver medallist, was honoured to be asked to hand out the prestigious Young Player of the Year award to Malcolm Marx of the Lions, at the recent SA Rugby Awards evening. Usually only members of the rugby family are asked to present awards and so Manyonga’s inclusion is testament to the power of his story as an athlete.
Ethiopian client Abebech Afework run an outstanding race to come 2nd in the TCS Amsterdam Marathon this weekend. Afework has battled with injuries this year, and in this, her return to competition in 2016, she again proved her class over the 42km distance.
Since returning from a successful SA ‘A’ tour to Australia Khaya Zondo’s good form with the bat as continued. Zondo has scores of 55, 44 and 81 in his last 2 games for the Dolphins, helping them set up wins against the Lions and Warriors in the Sunfoil 4 day series. The next game starts this Thursday in Centurion against the Titans.

And new signing Itumeleng Khune was outstanding in the goals when Bafana Bafana took on Burkina Faso, making some vital saves to draw the match and keep World Cup dreams alive.
